This year, American singer, Sufjan Stevens, released a brand new album called Planetarium. Released in June, it is a collaborative album, featuring Bryce Dessner of The National, James McAlister, Nico Muhly and Stevens himself.
While the album was a hit in both the mainstream media and Stevens’ very own fan base, a lot of the fans have been heard complaining that they are still waiting for a Sufjan Stevens album; his last album was Carrie & Lowell, released in 2015. So, in short, quite a long time ago.
As it happens, Stevens appears to be thinking along the same lines: the Instagram account run by his record label, Asthmatic Kitty, recently posted a snippet of a song off of Stevens’ upcoming mixtape, The Greatest Gift, scheduled for release on the 20th of October.
