Swedish Gambian rising singer, song-writer and model Lisa Conta has released a brand new house jam tune titled “Never Answer”, the singer is based in London and the song is a release from her forthcoming debut EP. The song is perfect for the summer and the vocals are soft, it was produced by MOBO Award nominated DJ Ironik and co-written with Roses Gabor.
Conta comes from a musical family, in which her grandfather Demba Conta, is one of Gambia’s biggest music stars, as well as her father Eddie Conta, who made hits as “Dongoo” and “Manyoo”. Her passion for singing led her to join the school choir and she started making her own songs during her teenage years, she is inspired by R&B icons like Brandy, Whitney Houston and Aaliyah.
About her new track “Never Answer”, Lisa Conta says, “I think we all can relate to that feeling when you really need to reach someone and they’re not picking up. ‘Never Answer’ is about the frustration and irritation you feel when you’re constantly calling someone who’s not picking up your call. ‘You never answer’ was the first line that came to my head as soon as I heard the beat”.
