At the end of 2014, The Libertines signed a new record deal and announced to fans that they wanted to release a new studio album. During their set in the Netherlands at Best Kept Secret Festival, the band played their first new song in over a decade. It’s reportedly called “Gunga Gin” and you can watch the performance below. NME reported that Pete Doherty told the crowd they wanted to play new songs but had been advised not to, and said, “we’re going to give you one but it’s got to be a secret, yeah?“, then added, “turn your phones off“.
