Remember the classic 80s vampire film, The Lost Boys? If you hadn’t heard, it’s getting remade into a brand new TV show. This is the perfect time for it, too!
With great vampire shows from Buffy The Vampire Slayer all the way to modern vamps in The Vampire Diaries, it’s been a solid two years since we’ve had fresh vamps take the scene (in a good way).
Big blockbusters like Twilight and Bram Stoker’s Dracula have been missing from Cinema for too long now. Obviously this is good, as we’ve had plenty of time to miss them, and now we’re ready for something fresh and new.
Although The Lost Boys is nothing new, remaking it into a TV series would change everything. If you think about Buffy, that was a film first. I bet you forgot about that! That’s because it excelled as a show, and flopped as a film.
This is not to say that The Lost Boys flopped as a film, it definitely didn’t. But coming back as a series would be the perfect blend of nostalgia and contemporary.
And we’re in luck, because Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey has been cast as Michael, originally played by Jason Patric in the 1987 film.
Check out the description of the characters by The Wrap here:
“Teen Wolf alum Tyler Posey has signed on to star in the adaptation as Michael, one of the two sons who move to the seaside town of Santa Carla with their mother. Kingdom alum Kiele Sanchez will play their mother Lucy, while the role of the younger brother has not yet been cast”.
“Medalion Rahimi (Still Star-Crossed) has also been cast in the pilot as Stella, the carefree Californian who has an immediate spark with Michael. Her boyfriend David, the bad-boy leader of a vampire gang, will be played by Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom)”.
