Popular TV series The Vampire Diaries has released a video teaser advertising the show’s forthcoming episode titled ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’. In this short clip, Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, is convinced by friends to attend Whitmore College’s “Bitter Ball” for its broken-hearted students due to her often tumultuous love life. Stefan (Paul Wesley), who is Elena’s vampire love interest, can be seen for the majority of the teaser confronting his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and associate Enzo after a shocking discovery with serious consequences. The show takes place in fictional town Mystic Falls in Virginia.
Now in its fifth season, The Vampire Diaries centers on Elena who is consistently trying to avoid death. She falls in love with vampire Stefan and is soon introduced to the supernatural world, she was previously oblivious to in her small town. Stefan’s older brother, Damon has a love/hate relationship with his brother because Stefan turned him into a vampire against his will and Damon and Stefan feature in a love triangle with Elena as she reminds them of a girl they both previously liked. Think Twilight with ghosts, witches, werewolves, vampires but more sinister and adult.
The brand new episode will air on the CW Network on February 6 and promises many interesting plot twists.
