British comedian Stephen Merchant, famous for his writing partnership with Ricky Gervais, has been added to the cast of the third Wolverine movie. Wolverine 3 is the latest instalment in the stand-alone franchise starring Hugh Jackman as the iconic X-Men superhero.
While Merchant’s exact role in the film is yet unconfirmed, fellow Brit Richard E Grant has also joined the line-up, along with Narcos actor Boyd Holbrook as the main villain of the movie. Some fans may see this third instalment as bittersweet due to Jackman announcing in a cryptic Instagram post that this will be his last time appearing as the character. A release date is yet to be confirmed.
