It’s been relatively quiet for Tiggs Da Author over the past couple years; a single here and a feature there and a whole lot of behind the scene work. But he righteously kicks off 2019 by releasing his new single “Kinshasa Riddim” featuring South London rapper Blade Brown.
Having moved from Tanzania to London at the age of eight, Tiggs is a particularly individual proposition. Influenced in parts by the Congolese music that his mother used to play when he was young, This single heavy on the samples and is carefree and experimental of sorts.
True to his style, the multi-faceted poet, rapper, singer, songwriter and producer is truly one of a kind. Blade Brown s also in top form to provide much needed grit and duality.
“Kinshasa Riddim” is the first release from Tiggs’ mixtape which will be released over the next few months and includes other huge collabs with some major UK talent. Tiggs is also working on an album which will include other new solo material.
Tiggs comments: “This track sets the tone of the mixtape, it’s got the right energy and tempo so it felt right to release it first. This year I wanted to release two different projects – carefree, two different vibes, but you can enjoy each one in their own unique way”.
