Timothée Chalamet To Play Young Willy Wonka In New Warner Bros Movie ‘Wonka’ | Film News

Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet will play the famous role of chocolate maker Willy Wonka in a new movie. Unlike Tim Burton‘s version where we see him as an adult, in this new Warner Bros and The Roald Dahl Story Co version, we will focus on the character before his world-famous chocolate factory opens.

Paul King will direct the film for this third adaptation, with the script written by Simon Rich. Indeed, the two previous times, actors Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp played the role of Willy Wonka in his chocolate factory with the famous Charlie Bucket, the little boy with the golden ticket.

Paul King and producer David Heyman are renowned for their work on Paddington.

For this film, the premise for which is still being kept a secret, Timothée Chalamet will have the opportunity to show his talent as an actor but also as a singer and dancer. Indeed, many musical numbers are planned for this origins tale.

It is also one of the first times that the actor has found himself at the head of a blockbuster film. The upcoming Denis Villeneuve film Dune will potentially be the first time the Oscar-winning actor will star in a potential blockbuster.

Before the release of this chocolate-filled film scheduled for March 2023, we will have the opportunity to see Timothée Chalamet in the much-anticipated Dune, but also in Wes Anderson‘s The French Dispatch alongside Frances McDormand.

He will also star in Adam McKay‘s Don’t Look Up, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.
