Tina Turner And Jay Z Inducted Into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame | Music News

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially included this year inductees! Jay Z, Tina Turner, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Carole King, Todd Rundgren will join the category of performer inductees in 2021!

Three of this year’s inductees – Dave Grohl, Tina Turner and Carole King – are joining the Hall of Fame for the second time: King was inducted in 1990 as a non-performer, Tina Turner entered the Hall in 1991 as a half of the Ike & Tina Turner duo and Grohl was inducted as Nirvana’s drummer in 2014. While some artists are repeating their success, Jay Z marks his first year of eligibility.

This is the first year three female artists have been inducted in the performer category! Thus, the chairman John Sykes has claimed: “This is our most diverse class in the history of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It really represents the Hall’s ongoing commitment to honor the artists that have created not only rock and roll, but the sound of youth culture”.

It is known that the induction ceremony will take place in Ohio’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on October 30. The event will be broadcasted on HBO and streamed on HBO Max later.

You can watch the announcement in the form of a YouTube video published on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this Wednesday, May 12!
