Tom DeLonge has clarified that he has not actually left Blink-182 for good, adding that the band have a future together. The singer left the group in 2014, but has said in a new social media post that he may rejoin them after completing solo projects.
DeLonge said, “I understand all the craziness out there in Internet-land, it is an odd time for fans of the Blink-182 legacy, I know – it’s odd for me, too. We DO have a future together if we want it, but for now we are busy doing separate things”.
“I look forward to my upcoming film and music adventures, and a hell of a lot more… Maybe throw in a bit of Blink-182, if we can build back that ‘special something’ that was once there”.
DeLonge has previously said he is “willing and interested” in working with his Blink-182 bandmates since leaving in 2014. However, Blink-182 recently released a new track without DeLonge, and plan to put out a seventh studio album this summer with Alkaline Trio vocalist, Matt Skiba.
