Tom Hardy Did Not Like Losing His Part On ‘Suicide Squad’ | Film News

When the production for the upcoming Western drama The Revenant overran, Tom Hardy had to drop out of Suicide Squad and his part as Rick Flag went to Joel Kinnaman. Because of the extended time needed to shoot the former movie, the British actor schedules clashed and he still has not overcome the anger. When asked by Variety about this, Hardy replied: “Was I bummed? Of course I was. I hate fucking losing work. I kept bemoaning that they were losing me significant money on a daily basis. Actually, it was good for my character”.

Nonetheless, it appears that he managed to channel his emotions in order to potray John Fitzgerald, Leonardo Di Caprio‘s Hugh Class antagonist in the movie. At least some good came out of it, although we will wonder how Suicide Squad would have been with Hardy. The Revenant will be out for a limited release on Christmas Day and for a wide release on January 8, 2016, while for Suicide Squad we will have to wait until August 5, 2016.
