Tom Whedon, Father Of Joss And Jed Whedon, Dies Aged 83 | TV News
Television writer Tom Whedon – the father of Avengers director Joss Whedon – has died at the age of 83. Jed Whedon – producer of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – marked their father’s passing with a series of heartbreaking Instagram posts.
In one post which can be seen below, Jed wrote: “We said goodbye to our dad yesterday. He passed away in relative peace surrounded by his wife, all five of his boys and their loved ones. He gave us the gift of his warmth and humor. We miss him terribly. Love you dad”.
Tom Whedon’s long career included children’s series Captain Kangaroo and the Emmy-winning Electric Company. In the years following, he also wrote The Golden Girls and Alice.
