Tyler Bates To Score ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Sequel | Film News

One of the first things people note about box office smash Guardians of the Galaxy is of course the wonderful overall sound, from Star-Lords’ 80s inspired mixtape or thrilling score by Tyler Bates. It has been confirmed that Bates will indeed return to score the sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.

Director James Gunn has already confirmed that filming for the highly anticipated movie will go ahead in February next year in Atlanta, teasing that the ‘more emotional’ second film’s plot will largely centre around Star-Lord’s (played by Chris Pratt) relationship with his father – which was hinted at lots in the first film but never realised. Gunn has also stated that the first draft of the script has been completed, and that he has the job of personally choosing the songs for the second mixtape.

Along with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Bates has also confirmed to start working on Emilio Estevez’s The Public, which is currently in the process of filming. Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 is set for a 2017 release.
