Dave just comes up with not one but two brand new single “Mercury” and “Titanium”.
The famous British rapper and songwriter teased the release of a project on social media a couple of weeks ago, and these two new tracks mark some of his first piece of solo music since his last album Psychodrama in 2019, that he went to win the Mercury Prize and ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2020 BRIT Awards for.
As he collaborated with plenty of artist including Giggs, Fraser T Smith, Fredo and Ghetts during last year, the artist is not totally solo for “Mercury”, which features emerging singer and songwriter Kamal.
In this track, the two artist introspectively tackle topics of love and hardship, mapping Dave‘s personal experience and journey. On the second song, the rapper tells about his current lifestyle as a rap star, he uses this sound as a warning to his rivals to show them that he is still here even after his time off and that he intends to come back stronger than ever.
It has also been announced recently that Dave will play an exclusive headline set for Parklife Festival in Manchester alongside Megan Thee Stallion later this year. They will be joined by the likes of Skepta, Jamie xx, DaBaby, Young Thug, Burna Boy, AJ Tracey and BICEP.
