Introducing ThatGuyP, a new wave rap artist and songwriter hailing from London in the UK, with his brand new single titled “Angels” featuring up-and-coming singer Kehina. The track comes on the back of his appearance on the compilation album from his music collective Tc4 titled Chosen & Broken.
The jazz hip-hop slanting track sees ThatGuyP opening up about the trials and tribulations that he has faced in life and the choices that these trials and tribulations have led him to make, with ThatGuyP suggesting, “the vibe and lyrics are relatable across the board more so now than ever in the midst of the recent black lives matter protests“.
Speaking further about the inspiration behind his new track “Angels”, ThatGuyP says, “I made this song a year ago talking about the trials and tribulation i’ve personally gone through as a young black man and how I hoped someone is watching over me to make sure I don’t stray too far from the morals and beliefs instilled in me during my upbringing.
I feel the track is increasingly relatable with everything thats going on at the moment with the recent black lives matter protests and have also released a little video project on my socials to the shed some light on the unity thats been inspired by this sad situation using a section of my song throughout the video.
Overall the track gives off a J Cole esque vibe to it, that with the backing vocals of Kehina gives the track a jazz/soul type feel and a chilled listening experience. Hope you enjoyed the song“.
