Rapper, singer and producer Handsome Luke has released his new single “Sicario”. He went viral with his hip-hop based track and has received over 8000 videos on the platform Tiktok.
Handsome Luke’s stage name is inspired by a Ryan Gosling character in the movie Place Beyond The Pines from 2012. The young artists from LA first got attention through his debut in 2019 and the single “Set Up” featuring West Coast superstar-in-the-making Roddy Ricch.
Furthermore he’s passionated for fashion and is building up his own fashion company. Luke grew up with his well-off father and his financially struggling mother. Through that, he focused himself on success. Nowadays he tends to spend 12-15-hour sessions in the studio daily, honing and perfecting his craft.
“Sicario” is produced by Christopher Trujillo (Ariana Grande, Megan Trainor) and KJ Drapeau who has worked with big names like Lady Gaga.
The song reminds listeners of classic cloud rapping with electronic influences. “Sicario means ‘hitman’ in Spanish. The song is analogy for coming into the industry and trying to make a way for myself”, Luke says about the song.
The track is about competition and the power to go your own way. “Coz fighting all I know, I’m on a war path” Luke sings in the lyrics. Listen to “Sicario” below.
