In celebration of King Charles’ coronation, British-Ghanaian luxury watch brand, Vitae London, has teamed up with Dean Forbes, one of the UK’s most influential tech leaders, to produce a singularly exceptional timepiece.
This landmark partnership is a testament to Vitae London and Forbes’ dedication to producing work of extraordinary quality, with the resultant watch representing the epitome of materials and craftmanship for the brand.
The watch, christened the ‘Dogo Coronation Edition,’ is meticulously sculpted from white gold and features an automatic movement of unparalleled quality. Noteworthy aspects include adornments of real diamonds and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The timepiece, valued in six figures, is also water-resistant up to 10 ATM. This venture is a first for Vitae London, creating an exclusive, one-off piece that sets the stage for more individual collaborations in the future.
Dean Forbes, ranked second in the 2023 Powerlist sponsored by J.P. Morgan and named 2022 Tech CEO of the Year by PwC, has always been a formidable figure in the tech industry. Currently serving as the CEO of Forterro, a software company focused on Europe, Forbes is also a Partner at the private equity firm, Corten Capital.
The Dogo Coronation Edition draws its inspiration from Dogo, a town in Ghana with which William Adoasi, the founder of Vitae London, shares royal lineage through his mother.
Commenting on this collaboration, Adoasi noted, “This collaboration is truly special, and the connection to Dogo adds a personal touch to the watch. I loved the fact that Dean wanted to wear only Black-owned brands for the occasion. It’s an honour to be part of such a significant moment for both Dean and the British Royal Family.”
This Dogo Coronation Edition is truly exclusive; it will not be produced again, thereby maintaining its unique status as a singular piece of wearable art. As Dean Forbes attended the prestigious event, this collaboration spotlights the remarkable accomplishments of both Forbes and Vitae London.
Vitae London, founded by William Adoasi, is a British-Ghanaian luxury watch brand on a mission. It aims to create elegant, high-quality watches while making a difference by supporting underprivileged communities.
A portion of the proceeds from each watch sold goes towards providing education for children in sub-Saharan Africa, showcasing Vitae London’s commitment to intertwining luxury with a cause.
