A new trailer has arrived for Warner Bros. war drama 12 Strong: The Declassified True Story Of The Horse Soldiers. The film stars Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon, and is set in the days after 9/11, when a new U.S. special forces team, led by a new captain, are chosen to be the first troops sent to Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission:
“There, in the rugged mountains, they must convince Northern Alliance General Dostum to join forces with them to fight their common adversary: the Taliban and their Al Qaeda allies.
In addition to overcoming mutual distrust and a vast cultural divide, the Americans must adopt the rudimentary tactics of the Afghani horse soldiers. But despite their uneasy bond, the new allies face overwhelming odds: outnumbered and outgunned by a ruthless enemy that does not take prisoners”.
Alongside Hemsworth and Shannon, the film also stars Michael Pena, Navid Negahban and Trevante Rhodes. The film is directed by Nicolai Fuglsig, written by Ted Tally and Peter Craig, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
The film is scheduled to be released January 19, 2018.
