In celebration of Nobel Prize winner, the incredible Wole Soyinka’s 80th birthday, The Crown Troupe of Africa present a play entitled A Dance of the Forest, and directed by Adefila and which was originally written by Soyinka himself. This play will take place at TerraKulture, 1376 Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos on the 6th and 13th of July, and will feature special birthday celebrations for Soyinka on the 13th.
The play contains observations about an array of matters including religion, tradition, history, honour, freedom, forgiveness, courage, love, and showcases these matters in a variety of beautiful forms and creations including a combination of dialogue with poetry, and acting with dancing. The Crown Troupe of Africa never fail to amaze and present a stunning display of artistic abilities and talents, and this play promises to live up to these high expectations and deliver a real authentic, poetic and clever piece of art that truly showcases Wole Soyinka’s play-writing and poetic skills.
