Film fans were introduced to the speedy superhero Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters, in Bryan Singer‘s last film in the X-Men universe, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Quicksilver was last seen living with his sister and mother in the 1970’s, recruited by Wolverine and Professor X to use his powers in helping free Magneto from a prison cell. Crucially however, the identity of his father was not addressed.
Now in a recent interview with Joblo.com, Peters discusses the parentage of Quicksilver, suggesting that it is indeed Michael Fassbender‘s Magneto: “I have learned that he’s my father at this point and i’m trying to…I don’t know what I can say“.
While comic book fans may already be familiar with this news, to film watchers this now confirms a new detail to the hit series. The next instalment of the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse is due to hit cinema’s May 2016. Watch the trailer below:
