Zoey Deutch is set to star in Something From Tiffany’s, a film in development for Amazon Prime Video and based on Melissa Hill‘s novel of the same name. Amazon are producing the film alongside Reese Witherspoon‘s Hello Sunshine production company, and Daryl Wein will direct from a script by Tamara Chestna.
The film is a romantic comedy that focuses on a woman whose life is upended when an engagement ring meant for someone else leads her to the person she’s meant to be with.
Deutch broke out in 2018 romantic comedy Set It Up for Amazon rival Netflix, so she’s got experience in the romcom genre, and Amazon would love Something From Tiffany’s to land with viewers as well as that film did. She hasn’t appeared in a film since 2019, but does have crime drama The Outfit arriving next year, while she’s currently working on comedy satire Not Okay.
This is the second project Amazon and Hello Sunshine are collaborating on, as they’re also currently working on a musical drama series adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s bestselling novel Daisy Jones & The Six. The series will star Riley Keough and Sam Claflin.
Wein co-wrote and co-directed Sundance hit How It Ends alongside Zoe Lister-Jones earlier this year, also previously having success at the festival in 2018 with White Rabbit. Chestna wrote Amy Poehler‘s Netflix movie Moxie, 2019 teen romance hit After, and is currently working on upcoming musical Sneakerella for Disney+.
No word yet on when Something From Tiffany’s is expected to go into production, but Zeutch is a budding star and this should be another strong starring role to take her up the Hollywood ladder.
