Aubrey Plaza & Jemaine Clement Star In Trailer For ‘An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn’ | Film Trailer

The first trailer has arrived for the very weird looking An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn, which stars Aubrey Plaza and Jemaine Clement and is directed by Jim Hosking. That this film looks very weird shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who saw Hosking’s previous film, The Greasy Strangler, which was equal parts weird, disturbing and darkly funny.

The trailer here has a lot of similarities, with more offbeat humour and seemingly wild and strange occurrences. Written by Hosking and David Wike, the film follows a woman named Lulu Danger whose life changes when she sees a TV commercial for ‘An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn for One Magical Night Only’ that reveals a mysterious man from her past.

While he and his business partner come to town for a special one-night show, Lulu’s scheming husband and his cohorts seek to steal from her adopted brother Adjay, which forces a specialist and Lulu’s would-be-lover to step in and help track down the stolen cashbox.

If that sounds and looks wild, that’s probably what it will be. In addition to Plaza and Clement, the film also stars Craig Robinson, Emile Hirsch, and Matt Berry. The film premiered earlier this year at Sundance to understandably divided opinions, and will hit cinemas and VOD on Friday, October 19.
