Jonny Greenwood To Stream New Album Early | Music News

Jonny Greenwood is treating us to his new sound earlier than expected, in a pre-release album stream for Junun which is available right now. Following in the footsteps of some of the greatest rock artists willing to take wonderful risk with world music, his new album incorporates Indian music in an emphatic fashion. In fact, on occasion Greenwood disappears into the background, as he is one of more than 16 musicians taking part.

In partnership with Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur, and produced with Nigel Godrich, Junun was recorded in India this year. It is evident that Greenwood has taken this musical journey very seriously, and appears to have stood out from the crowd when he told the Evening Standard that he’s “always a little wary of rock bands half-heartedly dabbling in world music”. Click here to stream his upcoming album.

A recent graduate with a BA in History. However, my passion lies in spreading the good word of music. Now I am all about the future, not what has happened in the past. From indie to electronic to chillwave to rap to folk, I love to write about all the up-and-coming gems of music as well as the legendary bands which have developed my love for music. Although it makes putting my music library on shuffle quite an undesirable experience. Feel free to follow me on twitter for more music related posts.
