Kevin Hart To Star In Action-Comedy ‘On The Run’ From Universal | Film News
Universal Pictures has acquired On The Run, an action-comedy pitch by Aeysha Carr that has comedian Kevin Hart attached to star. Carr, who is currently scripting the Hart-produced The Studio for Showtime and is also a supervising producer and writer for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, will write the script for the film.
Hart will produce through his Hartbeat Productions banner alongside Will Packer (Ride Along) and his Will Packer Productions label.
On The Run will follow Hart as a hitman whose assignment goes awry when the target turns out not to be who he expected. Having been in films since 2002, Hart has only recently managed to turn his huge success in comedy into leading roles, starring in films such as Central Intelligence, Get Hard and About Last Night.
On The Run will still need to find a director and Hart’s co-stars when the script is eventually written, so until then you can catch Hart in cinemas this Christmas when he stars alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Karen Gillan in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, which arrives in cinemas Wednesday, December 20.
