Privacy And Encryption Major Themes For ‘Mr Robot’ Season 2, Creator Says | TV News
The Feds are coming to confront Elliot on the fallout of his crime in the second season of Mr Robot, creator Sam Esmail revealing that a major theme of the shows second series – logically – will be the ramifications of his actions of putting the world’s economic system into collapse.
“Elliot committed a crime and we’re going to see the ramifications of that this season,” he said “That’s why you see that introduction of law enforcement, which you deliberately didn’t see the first season.”
Esmail also revealed that other storylines of the series referenced the Apple v FBI debate, commenting:
“I think it’s a really important issue, and I’m not sure people really understand the nuances about it. It’s an interesting public discourse [and] it brings up the right to privacy: Do we have it or not?”
The series stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Micheal Cristofer, Stephanie Corneliussen, and Craig Robinson joining the cast for the second season.
Season Two of Mr Robot is expected to air this summer on the USA Network, whilst on Amazon Prime in the UK.
