After releasing “Rock Bottom (ft. Wretch 32)” from his forthcoming debut album, Only When We’re Naked, Zak Abel has, yet again, graced us with another stellar track.
“All I Ever Do (Is Say Goodbye)” again shows off the North-London soul-pop sensation’s amazing vocals. Uplifting in melody, Abel sings with a melancholy twist lamenting over losing loved ones while also cherishing and not taking for granted those still around us.
“All I Ever Do (Is Say Goodbye)” really gives us a good idea of what we should expect from Abel’s forthcoming album. Already showing us his wide scope, Abel is no one trick pony and can easily transition from euphoric to heartbreaking.
Speaking of his latest track, Abel notes: “I wrote All I Ever Do with the same guys who I wrote Unstable with. We had a very therapeutic day where we all spoke about people we had lost in our lives, people who had gone too soon. One of the writers, my friend Danny Shah, was telling us he lost five people he was really close to in the last three months. He said, “All I ever do is do is say goodbye. I think we should write a song with that title.”
Already releasing great tracks like the addictive, “These Are The Days” “Say Sumthin” and “Unstable,” his most popular single to date, “Unstable”, has already received over 23 million streams on Spotify.
The 22 year old is already accomplishing great things so early on his career with his debut album seeing him work with songwriters Eg White (Adele, Florence And The Machine) and Cass Lowe (Ivor Novello winner for Snakehips “All My Friends“).
Previous collaborations have seen him working with Kaytranada, DEAN, Tom Misch, Karma Kid, Joker, Syd (The Internet; Odd Future) and many more and with his his new album coming out, we’ll see Abel working with more incredible new talents such as Danny Shah, Lawrie Martin and producer Sky Adams.
I honestly cannot wait for what Abel has to offer, but, for now have a listen of “All I Ever Do (Is Say Goodbye)” below.
