Fresh off another great performance as Ilsa in Mission: Impossible – Fallout (arguably the franchise’s secret weapon), Rebecca Ferguson has signed on to another popular franchise. She will star alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in the upcoming Men In Black reboot from director F. Gary Gray.
It’s unclear at this time what role Ferguson will be playing, but she will join a stacked supporting cast that includes Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, and Kumail Nanjiani, with a screenplay coming from Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man). The new film will focus on:
“Tessa’s character Em trying to prove herself by joining the London MIB and being paired with the former ace Agent H, played by Hemsworth. The pair becomes involved in a murder mystery that has them traveling the globe”.
The addition of Ferguson comes on the heels of the actress also signing on to Mike Flanagan‘s upcoming sequel to The Shining, Stephen King‘s Doctor Sleep. She will play Rose The Hat, the head of a cult that feeds on the ‘steam’ created by young people who have a touch of the shining. The steam escapes as the young people die painfully.
The film will revolve around a now-40 year old Danny Torrance struggling with the same demons of anger and alcoholism that plagued his father.
With both of these roles now lined up, and presumably more Mission: Impossible films to come, Ferguson is quickly becoming a household name. The new Men In Black film is scheduled to be released June 14, 2019.
