With all the success that his last project brought, it definitely wasn’t enough to keep Not3s away from the studio for too long. It seems like the Hackney artist is back with a bang as he releases slick visuals for his brand new sentimental single “Wanting”.
His first since Take Not3s II, the new joint is a romantic ode to a partner, expressing how much he is ‘wanting’ her. At his most sincere, he gives us a real show of his own vocal ability. Determined to treat her right, he does his best to woo his lady while scolding the men who treated her badly in the past.
Masterfully produced by Scribz Riley, Not3s switches things up, taking a slightly different direction from his Afro-swing pocket. We get a more brooding, moody R&B production which evokes late night feels. Supported by guitar work from Sonzi, Not3s is really showing the UK scene that he is definitely not a one-trick pony.
“Wanting” comes with some fresh, new visuals courtesy of Anders Malmberg, who has previously directed works for Calvin Klein. With clean, voyeuristic shots and intimate moments with Not3s and his female lead, the visuals add so much more meaning and depth to the single. Not3s is in a different space.
He shared with Complex: “I’ve taken a bit of time out, but I’m back and really excited about my new song […] It’s a new chapter for me, and the start of a lot of new music I have coming. I want this to be one of the tracks of the summer.”
