Introducing themselves officially as an act to look out for, Dublin-based four-piece ELM are dazzling their listeners and ushering in a new era of uber-relatable queer pop with their debut single “Fear“.
Produced by MyRiot – who has worked with some big name forces like London Grammar, Halsey and Foxes – “Fear” is a string-fuelled bop that’s custom-built for a moment of ecstasy on the dance floor. Rhythmic electropop that it carried by a riveting string selection. Bold production to heartfelt sentiments, “Fear” is an uplifting and dizzying definition of acceptance; an acceptance of who you are and who you love.
Coming together in the most organic of ways, founding members Dylan Walsh and Aidan Clancy grew up together in the small coastal town of Bray. Their adoration of music brought them to Dublin’s BIMM Institute, where they met drummer Ca Ahearne, and subsequently Gary Molloy one night at a party. The gang quickly warmed to each other and it was clear that they were perfect fit.
Each member of the band brings a unique element to ELM that is then shared, spliced, perfected and polished with the other members until a carefully constructed, multi-layered and shimmering piece of pop is born.
