HBO Renews ‘Westworld’ For Season Four | TV News

The critically acclaimed dystopian series set in the Wild West, Westworld, will return for season four. The news has been confirmed by HBO while the show’s third season is due to premiere in 2020.

Earlier this year, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys announced that the Westworld creators, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy had already locked in deals in place for a potential fourth and fifth season.

According to Discussing Film, the shooting for Westworld season four is scheduled for later this year. Even though so far, there’s been a two-year break between each new season of the show, the fourth series is predicted to arrive in 2021.

In the meantime, the first full trailer for Westworld season three was revealed at last month’s Comic-Con in San Diego. It shows Dolores venturing into the real world and Maeve entering a whole new section of the park set during World War Two.

The details of Westworld’s third season remain unknown, although in his interview for Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Nolan described it as a “radical shift”. It has also been announced that the show’s new episodes will feature two new stars: Emmy winner Lena Waithe and Aaron Paul, known for his work on BoJack Horseman and Breaking Bad.
