Little India is 4-piece band composed of Conan Jurek, Andrew Dixon, Dallyn Hunt and Tim Morrison. They have a streamline of new music by melting the romance music’s earlier decades with modern music.
“Little India even sounds a bit like a cross-pollination between the catchy indie rock of Foals and the danceable funk-soul of Jungle. The combination is wonderfully contagious and puts a big smile on our face” said Dansende Beren and Elevator Magazine to describe them.
Their success began after releasing their debut EP, Up All Night, in 2013. It quickly found success and gained international radio play. Then in 2014, the band won both The Shore 104.3 FM ‘Best of BC’ and CFOX’s ‘Seeds Competition’ .
More recognition followed with their subsequent two EPs allowing them to ascend into the top 12 of Vancouver’s 2015 ‘Peak Performance Project’ hosted by The Peak 102.7.
All of this led to them travelling across the globe, touring through Canada and the UK at historic venues and major festivals, supporting established acts like Kodaline and Cold War Kids, and organically reaching over 7 million streams on Spotify in an array of continents.
However, in 2016, Little India decided to focused on creating the music they were really looking for. Thus, they traveled to Europe to create an album in both London and Portugal.
They returned on September 27 with “Diamonds”, which has had an overwhelming response across North America, Europe, and Asia in just a matter of days.
Now, they have released another new track. We can’t stop them anymore. Titled “Calypso”, it deals with the feeling of being trapped by your lover, with the intent to leave. It’s a melting of 60’s harmonization and modern rock. It’s rhythmic sound with a feel good vibes accompanied by an enchantress blent of sound.
