In less than two weeks after her Grammy triumph, Queen Beyoncé has won four NAACP Image Awards as the top musical winner.
To give you a quick recap, the NAACP Image Awards is an annual ceremony presented by the US-based National Association for the Advancement of Colored People to honour and celebrate outstanding performances in film, television, music and literature works. The NAACP includes 40 categories that are voted on by the organization’s members.
Last Thursday, March 25 was the fourth night of NAACP 2021 Awards with Beyoncé becoming the biggest winner of that night. The entertainer won in the Outstanding Female Artist nomination beating H.E.R., Ledisi, Alicia Keys and Jazmine Sullivan.
Moreover, the Outstanding Music Video victory was taken by her “Brown Skin Girl” video starring Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter and Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid. Mrs Carter was nominated twice for the category, due to her other Black Is King work also being nominated.
The Outstanding Duo/Collaboration (Contemporary) and Outstanding Hip Hop/Rap Song categories honored the hit track “Savage (Remix)” from Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé.
The R&B Queen’s proteges Chloe x Halle, who signed to her Parkwood Entertainment label back in 2013, won in The Outstanding Duo/Group or Collaboration (Traditional) for their “Wonder What She Thinks Of Me” track and in the Outstanding Soul/R&B song for “Do It“.
We send massive congratulations to all the winner and nominees of the NAACP 2021!
