After Greyhound – The Battle of the Atlantic comes the post-apocalyptic Finch, another film starring Tom Hanks, which will soon start streaming on Apple TV +, who, according to Deadline, has btained the distribution rights for Finch.
Originally named BIOS, the film thus tells the story of Finch, a robotic engineer who is the last man on earth, after a solar flare wiped out much of life on Earth.
Alone and sick, he builds an android voiced by Caleb Landry Jones to keep him and his beloved dog Goodyear, company.
The trio then undertake a trip across the country. In this post-apocalyptic desert, the scientist takes the opportunity to learn from his creation, what love and friendship are.
This science fiction film is written by Craig Luck and Ivor Powell, and is directed by Miguel Sapochnik, two-time Emmy winner. As a reminder, he is behind the making of series such as Game of Thrones and House.
It was to be distributed by Universal in theaters during the summer of 2021, but it seems like Universal has backed out. This is only a guess on our part, as it could well be that Finch producers Amblin Entertainment and Walden Media, simply thought they stood a better chance of recouping their investment by selling the movie to Apple.
The film is set to debut on the streaming platform this fall, and we are eagerly awaiting a trailer.
