It has unfortunately been a sad week – two important figures of the worldwide celebrity scene have passed away, both committing suicide and both leaving show business in a state of shock. The first one was the fashion designer Kate Spade, found dead three days ago in her apartment in central New York.
Today, another star had been discovered unresponsive in his hotel room in France, by one of his friends and colleagues, Eric Ripert. It’s the cruel fate met by Anthony Bourdain, CNN’s celebrity chef, author and television personality. He died at the age of 61 and the reasons for why it happened are still unclear and kept in silence.
Bourdain was filming an upcoming episode of Parts Unknown in France, a series that explores various cultures and food all around the world; the programme well reflects the personality of Bourdain himself, as described in a tweet by CNN regarding the sudden loss: “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.”.
As author, Bourdain wrote an essay titled Don’t Eat Before Reading This in 1999, which became a best-seller in the culinary literature. Such a full and complete life that one more time, surprisingly, led to unbelievable acts like this. Our condolences and prayers to the family and friends.
