One of the biggest bands to come out of Sheffield, Arctic Monkeys released their last studio album, AM, more than four years ago. The album allowed them to gain renowned fame in the United States. They also broke records with AM, becoming the first independent-label band to debut at number one in the UK with their first five albums.
That was almost half a decade ago, and now the band appears to be itching to get back to the studio and release their sixth studio album out into the world. Bass player Nick O’Malley stated in a recent interview that recording for the upcoming album was to begin this month at a secret location. It is expected to come out next year, because “if it isn’t, we’ve got problems”.
