Avery Raquel Announces Her Upcoming Album With New Single ‘You Said’

Avery Raquel‘s new single “You Said” is about the budding feeling of new love, and how exciting it can be. Released on April 7, this new single is a symbol of renewal, after a period of depression and isolation, the singer makes it a point to feel light and awake again.

At 20 years old, Avery Raquel has already won numerous awards, including being a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest three times. By the end of 2018, the young singer had released her third solo album, My Heart Away, which consisted of entirely original music.

This new single heralds her upcoming 2022 self-titled album. This new project is tinged with original Alternative Soul, reminiscent of his love for the RnB/Soul music of the past, but with a more current and contemporary style.

Influenced by artists such as Etta James, Carole King, Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Bruno Major, Allen Stone, and many others, Avery brings a mix of RnB/Soul and Pop to her new songs, tinged with her experiences in Jazz and Blues.

Carried by many music professionals over the years, Avery has worked with award-winning Canadian producer/musician Greg Kavanagh and Grammy-nominated artist-producer and DJ StoneBridge.

She can also boast of having shared the studio or stage with artists such as David Clayton-Thomas, Sean Jones, Molly Johnson, Holly Cole, Lou Pomanti, Matt Dusk, Stacey Kay, Tyler Shaw and many others.

Beyond her art, Avery supports causes close to her heart, such as anti-bullying (school outreach), mental health and music education.

She is a featured artist and co-host of the weekly show The Memphis Show on the Internet radio station Heart of Indie Radio. This station is a big advocate for children’s hospitals, music education and mental health awareness for youth.
