The human beans at Walt Disney have revealed a new poster for their upcoming nostalgic blockbuster The BFG, and Sophie’s certainly stepping on some big toes. The poster for on the movie directed by Steven Spielberg shows Ruby Barnhill’s Sophie standing on the toes of the legendary Big Friendly Giant (voiced by Bridge of Spies actor Mark Rylance) as she looks upwards in amazement.
Based on the novel written by children’s author Roald Dahl, the film follows Sophie as she befriends the Big Friendly Giant, who despite his intimidating appearance, turns out to be kindhearted soul. However, when he takes Sophie to Giant Country – where he magically collects children’s dreams each night, her presence bothers some of the less-friendly giants Bloodblotter (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement).
In order to protect both themselves and the world from the evil giants, Sophie and the BFG wind up in London, seeking out the Queen (Penelope Wilton) to help restore order. See the trailer below and catch The BFG on July 22, 2016.
