Bradley Cooper In Talks To Star In Paul Thomas Anderson’s Next Project | Film News

Per THR, one of the most acclaimed directors working today will have another recently acclaimed director starring in his next film, because Bradley Cooper is in talks to star in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s next movie.

The project recently moved from Focus Features to MGM, and will see Anderson returning to the San Fernando Valley where he grew up, which is also the setting of Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Punch-Drunk Love.

The film follows a child actor attending high school in the Valley. Cooper is likely playing an old-school producer or director who takes a liking to the boy. Reportedly, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas and George Clooney had all been considered early on in the casting process when the project was set up at Focus, and before the pandemic pushed back production.

Filming is now being eyed to start in the autumn, if Los Angeles officials allow local filming to resume.

Obviously any PTA project is always exciting. Him teaming up with Cooper is just the cherry on top. The film is currently untitled but it could probably remain untitled and film fans would still happily see the movie.

This is just one of the interesting projects Cooper is currently involved in. He’s also developing a Leonard Bernstein biopic for Netflix, and he’s also in the middle of filming Guillermo Del Toro‘s Nightmare Alley remake alongside Cate Blanchett.
