Brooklyn R&B singer-songwriter Lordus has just released a new single entitled “Only One”.
Lordus, formerly known as Ella René, started from scratch by changing her name and is back with this new single.
Her new single shows the versatility of the artist, and her sensual R&B features a lyrical style and vocal performance reminiscent of Toni Braxton‘s early days.
“Only One” highlights the artist’s sensual voice and musical register. The track has a soothing texture and a punchy groove, inspired by Janet Jackson‘s classic song. Lordus interpolates parts of the song and adds her own unique touch.
Before this track, she released a soulful but seductive song entitled “Bout U” last year, and in 2018, Lordus was chosen by American Airlines and Essence executives to perform at Essence Festival Center Stage, where she had been able to move the revellers who listened to her with her energy and sensual voice.
She has also performed at the Coney Island Festival held in Brooklyn, which defends the honour of American popular culture through innovative exhibitions and performances, at the MLE event.
The Brooklyn artist Lordus is a contemporary and refreshing version of the classic R&B sound of the 90s, and her songs resonate in your consciousness long after you’ve heard them.
