Bywater Call Release New Track ‘Walk On By’ | Music News

Canadian blues collective Bywater Call have shared a brand-new track titled “Walk On By”. The song is featured on their self-titled debut album set for release on November 22 via Gypsy Sound.

Toronto-based Bywater Call was formed by vocalist Meghan Parnell and guitarist Dave Barnes back in 2017. The two were quickly joined by drummer Bruce McCarthy, bassist Mike Meusel and pianist Alan Zemaitis. On year later, the band gained a 2-piece horn section with Stephen Dyte on trumpet and Julian Nalli on tenor sax.

The group rapidly became a staple on the Canadian blues scene. They became known for their top quality live shows, including performances at the Tremblant International Blues Festival, Donnacona Blues Festival, The TD Toronto Jazz Festival and more.

The Canadian outfit is set apart by the raspy vocals of singer Meghan Parnell, who collaborated with jazz legend Bill King earlier this year. Her version of “Shake A Hand” by Faye Adams met with an enthusiastic reception and gained the attention of many national radio stations.

Inspired by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Otis Redding, Bywater Call is ready to present to the world their unique and authentic sound deeply rooted in traditional blues, soul and rock and roll. Following the premiere of their long-awaited debut LP, the band is slated to embark on a European tour in the beginning of 2020.
