Chad Stahelski Planning Car-Focused Action Film As Next Project | Film News

Chad Stahelski has established himself as an action genre favourite over the last few years. From his work on the John Wick franchise to his recent stunt coordination on Birds Of Prey, genre fans have come to appreciate the kinetic and clean ways he shoots human bodies. He may be about to do the same with cars, too.

For his next project, Stahelski will be teaming up with A Quiet Place producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller to make an original, high-concept car-focused action film at Paramount. Details are under wraps, but reportedly the film will focus on an “interesting character relationship” at its centre.

Who knows what that means. Right now it doesn’t sound any different than a Fast & Furious film, but hopefully Stahelski can bring his propulsive brand of action filmmaking to another original film that can become a hit.

The film will be written by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), who are also writing Beverly Hills Cop 4 for the studio.

Producers Form and Fuller have a solid track record – they’re behind the better-than-you-think Ouija and Purge franchises – so Stahelski should be in very safe hands, and is hopefully given free reign to make whatever crazy passion project he wants.

We’ll wait for some more concrete details regarding the film. But this is a project John Wick fans should be keeping a close eye on.
