Colin Farrell has joined the existing cast of Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol and recently-added Dan Fogler for the Harry Potter spinoff film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It has been reported that Farrell will play Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander (played by Redmayne) meets on his travels in New York City, 70 years before Harry Potter’s name exists in the wizarding world.
J.K. Rowling herself wrote the script, and David Yates, previous Harry Potter director, is set to return to the directing chair for Rowling’s next cinematic venture. In addition to this, David Heyman, who produced the Harry Potter film franchise, is set to return. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for a November 18, 2016 release.
