‘Downton Abbey’ Season 5 To Premiere In Cinema | TV News

 

The opening episode of the new series of Downton Abbey is to have a cinema screening at Leicester Square Empire cinema before it is broadcast on TV. The screening will take place on September 17, four days before the series is broadcast on ITV in the UK. The event will be hosted by the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) is association with Carnival and Telegraph Bespoke and ITV.

 

CTBF chief executive Richard Wilson said, “this partnership strengthens our ties with the television industry, in which many of our beneficiaries work. Our choice of venue, the iconic Empire Leicester Square, further highlights the charity’s strong links in cinema and film“. Before the screening, there will be a question and answer session with some of the cast as well the creator Julian Fellowes and executive producer Gareth Neame. The new season is set in the 1920s and actors such as Anna Chancellor and Richard E Grant are set to join the cast, watch the season 5 trailer below.
