Emerging Irish Band Runabay Release New Track ‘How Long’ | Music News

Irish indie-pop outfit Runabay have shared their brand-new single titled “How Long”. The poignant tune about our relationship with technology is taken from their newly released debut full-length, Between The Lines.

Formed in late December 2013, Runabay have already gained support of many radio stations, including BBC 6 Music, RTE 2FM and Radio Ulster, and had their music featured on many official Spotify playlists. Following a nomination for this year’s Northern Ireland Music Prize, the six-piece are back with a new subtle alt-pop gem, “How Long”.

The song featured on the band’s long-awaited first studio album showcases their signature sound inspired by the stunning coastline around the Glens of Antrim, where the artists are based. In their carefully crafted tracks, Runabay combine compelling guitar and cello melodies with thoughtful and relatable lyrics.

“How Long is a song about the grip of technology on humanity and how communication systems have built new barriers to our interaction”, says vocalist/ guitarist John McManus. “The lyrics delve into the evolution of tech, its impact on our behaviour and psyche and make the point that whilst trends come and go, it is people who will be there as the only constant in life”.
