After Olivia Colman, it’s Emilia Clarke‘s turn to join the cast of the Marvel series Secret Invasion for Disney Plus. The British actress is stepping out of her role as Khaleesi to take on a role currently unknown to the general public.

Adapted from the Marvel comic book of the same name, Secret Invasion will follow the plan to invade Earth by representatives of the Skrull alien race via their ability to change their appearance. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who was seen talking to a Skrull ally in the post-credits scene of the WandaVision finale, may also be featured in the series.
The casting announcement comes as Marvel prepares to unveil the finale of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, its second Disney+ series after WandaVision, on Friday. The other upcoming Marvel series on Disney+ is Loki, which will launch on June 11, and the Black Widow movie, which will be released in theatres and on the platform on July 9.
