Fantasy is incredibly popular these days, what with Game of Thrones reigning supreme both in the book shops and on TV, Netflix picking up on that vibe in renewing fantasy drama Shadowhunters for a second season.
The TV spin off of 2013’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones will return for another run on freeform, Entertainment weekly reported. The series is based off Cassandra Clare’s bestselling The Mortal Instruments following the adventures of Clary Fray – played by Katherine McNamara – who discovers on her 18th birthday that she comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt demons.
After her Mother is kidnapped, she takes on the role alongside Shadowhunter Jace – played by Dominic Sherwood – and her best friend, Simon – played by Alberto Rosende.
The cast also includes Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, Emeraude Toubia, and Harry Shum Junior.
