Once Upon A Time meets Teen Wolf in the first official sneak peek of Tell Me A Story, the new CBS All Access’ psychological thriller.
The official synopsis for the TV show takes “the world’s most beloved fairy tales are re-imagined as a dark and twisted psychological thriller set in modern day New York City, the first season of this serialized drama interweaves The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder“.
After having presented the show at this year Comic Con panel, the twisted series will officially debut every Thursday on the CBS’ streaming platform starting from October 31.
It looks like the CBS is trying to expand its online repertoire and join the competition with the other streaming giants. Kevin Williamson, the creator of teen cult’s Dawason’s Creek and The Vampire Diaries, will serve as a producer in what it is sure to be the next guilty pleasure of the upcoming television season.
From the look of it, the series doesn’t seem to follow the obvious path you would expect from a retake of children’s most popular tales. The gritty and edgier tone of the trailer doesn’t make the series look cartoonish or pretentious. This could really work as the series seems more psychologically-driven and less concern with staying compelitely true to the classic tales.
The cast of Tell Me A Story includes James Wolk, Billy Magnussen, Dania Ramirez, Danielle Campbell, Dorian Missick, Michael Raymond-James, Davi Santos, Sam Jaeger, Zabryna Guevara with Paul Wesley and Kim Cattrall.
