First Trailer For Greta Gerwig’s Directorial Debut ‘Lady Bird’ | Film Trailer

A trailer drop from A24 is becoming an event in itself considering the quality of the films released by the studio. They’ve now released the first trailer for Lady Bird, which is written and directed by Greta Gerwig.

The coming-of-age film follows Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson, played by Saoirse Ronan, as she butts heads with her parents, love interests and her education while pining for something more in her life.

The film evokes comparisons to one of Gerwig’s most recent films, 20th Century Women, and Ronan looks to be playing a slightly younger surrogate of the character Gerwig herself normally excels at; namely smart, rebellious and full of quirk.

Gerwig has always made a habit of choosing projects quite personal to her, and Lady Bird will hopefully be the most personal expression of her career considering she’s the driving force behind the whole film.

The cast also includes Lucas Hedges (Manchester By The Sea) and Timothee Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name), and the film is set to arrive in cinemas Friday, November 10.
