Australian singer/songwriter and producer, George Maple, has released a video for her brand new track, entitled “Lover”, off her forthcoming debut album. The video features supermodel, Jordan Barrett, and is directed by fashion photographer, Darren McDonald.
“Lover” is a suitably sensual track, with crunchy, rumbling bass the brooding undertone of the song. It does build to dramatic proportions, too. The closing minute or so sees a slight refrain for the vocals, before a passionate, tragic, guitar solo. Vocals fade it out.
The video opens with heavy rainfall. It goes from bone dry before the ecstasy of the chorus heralds the rain, again. Change in weather signalling tempestuous love? It is very primal, guys bareknuckle like alpha males seeking a mate.
