Remember when Gorillaz‘s co-founder Damon Albarn declared last year that the semi-animated electronic band had enough material to fill several albums, and illustrator Jamie Hewlett confirmed they had plans to release a follow-up to Humanz in 2018?
Well, fans can now rejoice, for this is really happening: Gorillaz’s sixth studio LP, titled The Now Now, is dropping June 29.
The English virtual band, which made an epic comeback in 2017 to critical acclaim after six years of radio silence, first teased the release of the album with a newly launched website, TheNowNow.tv. Hewlett’s wife Emma de Caunes just made it official, confirming the legitimacy of the project via Instagram story.
So now we’re in for a treat, because Gorillaz just made our summer. And to tide you over until the album is released, you can watch the teaser below.
